In an attempt to safeguard the Iran nuclear pact, Britain, France, Germany and the European Union made a joint call to the United States saying that Tehran has the right to profit from the lifting of sanctions tied to it.

After having a meeting in Brussels, the foreign ministers of the three nations and the EU foreign policy Chief Federica Mogherini urged the US President Donald Trump to decide whether to reinforce oil sanctions lifted under the deal.

The Foreign Minister of France Jean-Yves Le Drian told the media: “The accord is essential and there is no alternative.”

“We do not hide the other points of disagreement (with Iran) that exist.”
